Well in my open onion (oh, and I'm glad you like that term Poofiemus, took eight years of weird to finally get there) I still don't think that's a great idea. Your dog will eat that? Well... I guess you're dog will pretty much devour anything, or most anything.

Took the dog to the vet today to get his shots back up to date. He's slightly overweight, and since he's aging, the vet would like to see him lose it. He's on a diet now. I'm to halve the amount of kibble I give him, and substitute the missing amount with canned green beans. He LOVES them. I dumped part of a can on top of the kibble, then took it to the kitchen to seal it back up. He ate the beans off the top and came tearing into the kitchen (3 feet away) to jump on the counter and beg some more beans. It was hilarious!

XD See, my dogs don't even chew, so there are very few things the WON'T eat. The only one I can think of is wasabi.
Have you ever tried putting something on his lower lip? Dogs' tongues apparently can't go that direction, and it's hilarious to see them keep licking thier noses trying to get at it.

I'll have to try that with some peanut butter! That sounds like fun! I'd probably try it now if he wasn't asleep.
My dog just doesn't get the concept of grapes. He'll chew on it, it'll fall out of his mouth untouched. He'll pick it up and try again, but after the third time, he just gives up. The funniest thing was the clementine, though.

Well that's evil, yeah and dogs pretty much each anything that doesn't smell really weird. Usually anything with a vinegar smell, and a few other things. One thing I can do to my dog is put my fingers right where is jaw starts and he will opening and closing his mouth like he's trying to bite something. It's funny.
It's strange that your dog does that with grapes, I can't recall any of my dogs having trouble with anything like that.

My dogs do that with grapes too! Fizzy will figure out to bite it eventually, but Pippen won't. And Ferari...She just swallows them whole. XD
Actually, I'm pretty sure Fizzy has eaten stuff with vinegar, as well as bars of soap and laundrey detergent. And Ferari *ahem* apparently ate a rope once. (Please don't ask me to go into detail on THAT.) Yeah, I only recall them not eating wasabi.
I'll have to do the jaw thing to my dogs. It sounds entertaining.
Maybe I should rename this thread the dog torturing thread. XD

Well, at least MOST dogs don't like that kind of stuff. Either your dogs are unusual or mine are. Hmmm rope? Just how big was it? ONLY DETAIL I ASKED. Though I did have a dog quite a long time ago that would eat just about any bug you fed to him, how amusing.
I don't know about the name changing thing because it wouldn't last very long. Subjects in the forum go from one to another pretty fast.

It was a little under a foot long and yellow. That's all I remember about it, except for how we found it. *shudder*
Both Ferari and Pippen will eat bugs, and Pippen's been known to eat mice. I'm sure Ferari would eat mice if she could catch them and if she had enough teeth left to eat them. (She keeps chewing rocks, and so she's lost a lot of her teeth as a result.)
Yeah, they do tend to meander pretty quickly, especially on this forum. XD

Command Acknowledged.
Oh jeese... lost her teeth?? To my that sounds like pretty strange behavior, I've never even heard of that.. poor dog.
The only way to keep a single topic in line is to make one based soley one on thing. Even then they tend to veer off a little, but still relate to it in some way.

It is pretty strange behavior, and pretty funny to watch. She'll go outside, and start pawing through rocks until she finds one she likes. I don't know what criteria she uses, but I do know that not just any rock will do. Once she finds one, she'll bring it to you, drop it at your feet, and look up at you expecting praise. Then, when none comes, she'll settle down and start to chew it. Gaaah, my crazy dog is sooo cute.
Right, sort of how the Musical Musings thread isn't solely about bands anymore, but has still remained related to audio and the like.

Lol about the rock thing. That's hilarious. Mine does the bugs too. The first summer we had him, he picked up some sort of beetle with long antennae and began chewing away merrily. Suddenly, this huge gob of slobber flies out of his mouth and creeps down the driveway. The dog bounds after it, barks at it, and picks it up and starts chewing again. Then, he let loose this big wad dripping out of his mouth, and the bug was in it. He stared at it, feebly trying to creep away, then he picked it up and just swallowed it whole. I think my least favorite thing he ate was a twenty dollar bill. And it did turn up again, but I sure wasn't going for it.

About the $20--EW.
See, when Pippen eats bugs, it's two crunching noises and a gulp. And Ferari STILL doesn't chew when she eats them. It's fun to watch them try to eat moths off the screen door in the summertime, though. You see them jumping around and snapping in the air, and occasionally you see them swallow and look satisfied before going at it again.

I just love dogs. They're so weird, even if they are kind of gross. Mine was back at the vet's today, and we were sitting in the examining room waiting. There was a clot of dog hair on the floor. My dog, being his usual disgusting self, sniffed it, then sucked it down.

I must say, your dog definietely the strangest dog I have ever heard of. Do you have to watch everything you leave around the house? Be careful! My little Chihuahua used to chew and tear up a ton of things when he was younger (he's over a year old now) but no longer does, and probably the same goes for alot of puppies.
See if your dog could eat diamonds!

Well, I don't know about Pipe Organ, but we sure do have to keep aware in my house! Usually, though, we listen for abnormalities instead. You get really used to listening for crunching noises, and the second you hear them you leap after them before the dog swallows the toilet paper or plastic wrap or pinecone or whatever.
I bet Ferari could eat diamonds, but Pippen might actually try to chew them. That would be bad.
